Lucky Penny Coulter Family Historical Catherine Anderson Books
This is another great historical romance from Catherine Anderson, a romance built on a lie. Isn't that the way great romances begin? This is the story of Brianna and Daphne O'Keefe, and the journey they go through to secure David Paxton as husband and father.
The story begins with twin sisters Moira and Brianna. Tragically, Moira dies and Brianna adopts her infant daughter Daphne. For years the two struggle to survive, and through a series of discombobulated events, David comes to claim the child he thinks is his.
What evolves is the magic of Lucky Penny. Catherine paints a fantastic scene of the country and people, with information about the characters blossoming throughout. This book has twists and turns, with a plot that is excellently developed. Definitely another great read in the Coulter Family Series.

The plot is this brianna is raising her late sisters daughter who thinks her aunt is her mother brianna lies and tells her her father is a miner named david paxton fiction. But when her boss forces her to send money so her boss no longer has to support them they reach a real david paxton and upon seeing the child after searching for them believes she is his child becaeuse of the family resemblance many lies and misunderstandings abound until they become a family a great story highly reccommended
I loved the twists and turnsand espically the last one of a true family connection!
It was good my only dislike in the story was the sexual descriptions I don't think the story needed it.
I loved the family in this novel, the brothers of David were believable and sweet as was his mother. David was honorable and sweet and Brianna was a perfect foil for his rough around the edges personality. This book will rope you in and you can sit at spell and read a good romance
Catherine Anderson is one of my favorite authors. This book was not a disappointment. I loved it from beginning to end. I loved the characters, especially the little girl and the heroine and hero. This was a good romantic story with a western cowboy setting. The storyline was about family relationships and the sacrifices we make for love. It is not a "preachy" story, but it does show both the good and evil sides of human nature. I enjoyed reading this book and give it a 5-star rating and a strong recommendation.
Bri and David began at loggerheads and continued that way almost to the end. Keeping apart because she knew that Daphne was not David's child nearly ended any relationship that they may have had, but Bri knew the truth, and until David would believe her or find out some other way that what she said was truth she kept quiet.
Lucky Penny is an excellent book. A historical novel set in the 1800's Lucky Penny tells the story of David Paxton and Brianna O'Keefe who claims to be Mrs David Paxton. Brianna is raising her twin sister's child as her own and when getting a job with a Colorado rancher as a governess claims to be married to a David Paxton who is a gold miner in Denver. She is forced to write letters to her husband to come and get her. The child, Daphne, also writes letters to her father asking him to come for them. After 6 years of letters pile up they are delivered to David Paxton who decides to set out and investigate further. He first finds Daphne when they both go to pick up a penny. He sees that Dapne is the image of his mother and has the Paxton birthmark. He then recites the verse about finding a penny and picking it up for good luck and tells Daphne that it's a special lucky penny because it brought them together. There is some controversy and the usual falling in love of both parts. As is normal for Catherine Anderson, you feel all the emotions she puts down on the pages because her writing is so believable. I heartily recommend this book to everyone even those who have not read the other Coulter/Paxton family novels.
If you want to read a truly wonderful historical romance western this is THE book. It is the story of Brianna and Daphne O'Keefe and how they find a father and husband in David Paxton.
The story begins with twin sisters Moira and Brianna and how after Moira's death, Brianna adopts her infant daughter Daphne. After years of struggle and a series of mixed up events David comes to claim the child he thinks is his. But is Daphne that child? Will he fall in love with Brianna?
What evolves next is the magic from the lucky penny. The book swells with information regarding the characters, has twists and turns, the plot is so well developed that when you are finished you know it's done. You don't have any more questions and you can leave feeling happy. What a wonderful book!
